I HAVE SHIFTED......please visit my new Vox Blog

I have decided to shift my blog from blogspot to vox. It was good while it lasted on blogspot but it was getting too slow and cumbersome.

My journey continues.... http://agfoxx.vox.com/

A short but wonderful life in a crystal bowl for 1 nite
Had the company of a beautiful white lily-like flower
Provided a few hours of companionship to WL
No goodbye....just a quick and silent departure from this watery world.
Hence there lie in the crystal coffin Tinklebell Junior II.
Very much missed by WL and got replaced quickly by Sparkle

Slaves in the Bible

Need to do more study on the Ephesians 6 where the bible focus on the obedience of slaves to masters..... does God really allow slavery even those days?

Slaves and Masters
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

That would be foods for thoughts

ZOCOR.....

The blood test results came back today. Have been on Zocor (a simvastation) for around 2 months while continuing daily workouts; one 20 mg tablet each night. The objective was to reduce the LCL from 3.56 mmol/L to at least below 2.58mmol/L.
Looking at the results it seem to be working.
Total Cholesterol went down to 4.2 mmol/L from 5.4 mmol/L taken on 27/06/06
Triglyceride, the oil in blood down to 0.90 mmol/L from 1.06 mmol/L
Good HDL Cholesterol maintained at 1.32 mmol/L compared to 1.35 mmol/L
Bad LDL Cholesterol down from to 2.47 mmol/L from 3.56 mmol/L
Total Cholesterol/HDL ratio down to 3.2 from previous 4.0
Dr suggested that I continue with 400mg tablet daily since the response of my CK (cardiac enzymes) seems to be good; tested to be 206 U/L against (<301)

Long Lost Fren...Part II

Here comes the 2nd part....excerpt from my mail to the rest of USC75 ; those who are on my mailing list.

Dr Calvin Tean Kim Nyin is practicing as Cardiologist in Penang Adventist Hospital.
Had a good chat with him this morning and "interviewed" him on his thoughts about his alma mater etc i.e. before he knew I was just an old fren calling from KL.
He gave tributes to the teachers, headmaster and the conducive environment ....hemmmm it worked for him but not for some of us though. He also remembered there were more gals than guys in his Form 6 class and how smart they were ( I meant the gals)......unfortunately so true & so sad :((
Thank goodness for Kim Nyin that we now at least have a smart specialist doctor among the ACS-USC75 boys! And I like his string of qualifications...Consultant Cardiologist & Internist MBBS (Vellore), MRCP (UK), MRCP (Ire), AM (M'sia). Mine starts with LCE, MCE.......
KN,
Welcome back to the gang of USC75 and stay in touch.
Cheers...KK

WW Cycling & the Basketball Court

WW Cycling, originally uploaded by agfoxx.

WW wanted to cycle today & we went round the whole of Tm Desa Seputeh & Tm Bukit Seputeh.....WW cycled & I walked. Did not realised that she can cycle quite proficiently.

Also noticed that the ring on the Taman Bukit Seputeh basketball court is back after a long hiatus....more balls for Josh & WL?

Happy Guy wif iPod Nano

iPod Nano, originally uploaded by agfoxx.

Had dinner with Josh at Old ChinaTown Cafe at Low Yat after buying the 8Gig iPod Nano earlier. He bought it with his salary and see how happy he was during dinner. Food at Old China Town cafe is not so good; not much choice especially for side orders but Josh said the ice Ipoh White Coffee was good.

## Did 5km at Bidara before going over to LowYat; the Bidara management is getting quite strict regarding usage of the gym which is good as I believe there were probably abuse by outsiders. Needed to get security to open the gym as it is locked when empty which is slightly troublesome but I hope the management will continue to be strict especially security wise.

A burred sun....A hazy sky

A burred sun....A hazy sky, originally uploaded by agfoxx.

The haze is worse today infact I think it is a bad as its peak last year August 13 '05 . Visibility dropped especially in the evening & it is probably hazardous to have outdoor activities. Just wonder what’s the API in KL. That’s one of the reasons why I skipped tennis today other than the fact that I need to fetch WL & WW around.

F1 ....the True Champion

Although M Schu had to retire due to engine failure in Suzuka I believed he had won more than he lost.

Yes he conceded that he has only an outside chance of winning the Championship with one remaining race in Brazil but he was remarkable in his composure just after walking away from his damaged Ferrari. He was seen consoling his team mates in the pit and his comment "It is lost. I don't want to head off for a race, hoping that my rival has to retire. That is not the way in which I want to win the title." & "We are a great team," Schumacher stated. "Our guys are the best and I have a great affection for everyone at Ferrari and am always more than satisfied in the way we work. Incidents like today's can happen and they are part of racing. You win together but you also lose together. Today we did our best, I was leading the race and then my engine broke. That's the simplest way to sum it up. That is Formula 1". reflect words of a true champion. That to me is the defining moment.

ACS USC TAG Reunion II

Hah....to continue the "relationship" mentioned on the ipohacs blog (as per title link).

WH's uncle is married to sis-in-law which make her my niece-out-law.
LI is WH's cousin which make me her cousin-uncle-outlaw.
LP is LI's god sis which in turn make her my god-cousin-niece outlaw.....quite a mouth full but its a good discovery, something we never dream of when we were all classmates in form 6.

More old frens.....

Met Choo again this morning in BKC and continued our chat re ACS, Ipoh.....he remembered me as the one who taught JY how to ride motorcycle in the school compound ...........hemhemmm. Could not really recall him but as we talked he mentioned bout his brother who played tennis and the pieces started to fall in place albeit still blurrrrr. Dropped him a name card and asked him to visit ipohacs blog for more details/pics. He also introduced me to another x-ACSian who actually did his form 5 in 1954! Well, one easily work out his age............ and he is still very fit especially for his age. He still does his BK hill walk every day. He mentioned about a Dr Lam one year younger than him, this is the chap who discovered the Nipah virus who is also an x-ACSian. Have to say that these are all great guys and enjoying the club even more. Did my 5km on the threadmill, some leg press, stomach curls etc.

Hazy days ........

The sky was really enveloped with dirty air this morning. It has been hazy last couple of weeks but it was especially bad this morning. Was planning to run at KLCC park this evening but have to think twice now unless it rain heavily between now & evening.

She is getting it....

Had a chat with WL this morning. Of late she has been getting ready for school much faster than before. Very pleased with it & told her that. She explained that she discovered why it previously took her so long just to get ready. Of the morning routine, tying the hair in the bath room has been the most time consuming. Realised that she can do that while she is in the car & it also mean she can rest without worrying about the hair being undone and she just need to tie it just before reaching school.....now that’s what I call effective sequencings and we can take leisure drive to school every morning. God is good.
